As we rapidly approach the end of the year, and the beginning of another lap around the Sun by this planet, it is, again, time for us to acknowledge and remember those who will not be joining us in the new year. Their races have been run, their competitions completed, their final curtain call has occurred, and they has left this arena for the next one. We do not look back to once again mourn their loss, but to remember their deeds and accomplishments. We look back to rejoice at their completed legacies, and, most importantly, to remember that ones like them once walked upon this Earth.
For the world of comics, the year of 2011 has taken from us some individuals responsible for many happy moments of joy and laughter over the years, as well as the creator of one of the most memorable and infamous of the villains in the world of super-criminals who battle their super hero rivals month after month in the pages of your favorite magazine.
This comic list is not complete by any means, and will be updated, as required, as this year comes to its conclusion. If you think of someone that has been omitted that should be included in this list, please email me and I will get that taken care of for you. With that said, we pause to remember:
Edward Barreto – Comic Artist, “Judge Parker,” “The Phantom”
Bil Keane – creator of “Family Circus”
Aron Kincaid – Voice Actor, “Batman the Animated Series,” and “Transformers” (animated TV series)
Jerry Robinson – creator of The Joker
Joe Simon – co-creator of Captain America
Tom Wilson, Sr. – creator of “Ziggy”

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die
