seven warriors boom comic review 2It goes without saying, most comic book issue #2′s are immediately under the microscope on a few factors such as carrying a story forward with as much suspense and action as it’s introduction, or containing enough of a story to keep you wanting more.

The #2 issue of Seven Warriors, thankfully, met all these labels with muscle. The issue is a page-turner with an additional kick. Two fight scenes, one on land and one by sea, intertwined with a realistic approach to the theme of the story (the kick). For this reason, Seven Warriors is one of my favorite comic series this fall. Without giving away spoilers, here’s one of the biggest reasons why Seven Warriors is a series to watch for…

The movie 300 was one of the biggest action flicks of this this decade for the action sequences and the plot of a small army against thousands. Seven Warriors, unlike 300, has the similarities of a group of specialists given a mission of impossible odds. The difference, Seven Warriors follows a sense of normality. Between issue 1 and 2, not only did they pass through almost impossible challenges, but the end of #2 we’re left with 3 warriors. Who will remain at the end of volume 1?
